News Update
1. Wish you all the grace and blessings of the feast of the Nativity of our Lady! Let us remember in prayer the 105 brothers, who commence their novitiate life on 8th September, 2016.
2. In order to facilitate our ministry in Boston, a house was purchased in 30 Diane Road, Peabody, Massachusetts 01960, USA. Rev. Fr. Jilson George, the director and Rev. Fr. Janesh Moolayail, Asst. director, started staying there to continue our ministry in the Mall Chapel in Boston. Thanks and Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Davy Kavungal, Rev. Fr. Jilson and Rev. Fr. Janesh and our members in USA for their effort for the last 6 months. The house will be officially blessed by the local ordinary on 28th September, 2016.
3. General Formation Council was held on 1st and 2nd September, 2016 in Poornodaya Bhopal. Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation message followed by the report of the General Formation Coordinator and sharing of the rectors of major seminaries, president, deans, and representatives of novice masters, aspirants' rectors and provincial formation coordinators. A committee consisting of Rev. Fr. Wilson Chakiath, Rev. Fr. Viju Pynadath and Rev. Fr. Abraham Puthukulanagara designed a formation programme and evaluation tool for the different stages of formation in the congregation. Rev. Fr. Paulson Thaliyath presented a syllabus on St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara for different stages of formation. The committee report on Dharmaram study house was presented by the Prior General. It was decided to maintain the status quo of Samanvaya with regard to matters of academic formation. Discussion was held on relevant aspects of formation and proposals were made to the General Council. Congratulations to the Samanvaya Poornodaya team for organizing the program very effectively. They deserve appreciation for making the campus more beautiful and comfortable for various training and orientation programmes.
4. The meeting of the major superiors and the staff of the major study houses was held on 3rd September, 2016. The academic programs were discussed and evaluated with reference to the comparative strengths of each study house. It was followed by the meeting of the Personnel Board and possible candidates for staff were identified for major study houses.
5. Major Superiors' Meeting was held on 3rd and 4th September, 2016 in Poornodaya, Bhopal. Major Superiors approved the proposals of the General Formation Council, Report of Dharmaram Study Committee and the Statutes of the Delegation of USA and Canada and decided to implement them at the earliest. It was also decided to take up critical assessment of CMI Mission in the North and the South, program for ongoing formation and Management auditing by professional auditors in our houses and institutions.
6. Rev. Fr. Vicar General visited our missionaries in Ecuador and met with the bishops of their dioceses in the month of August. He had a discussion with our members on Ecuador mission and the possibilities of support after the earthquake. General Council has agreed upon a scheme to provide employment to the youth of the affected places where our members are engaged. Provinces will join together to take up a new project.
7. Rev. Fr. Prior General conducted the canonical visitation in Rajkot and Bhavnagar provinces from 16th to 21st August, 2016. Rev. Fr. Prior General met the Provincial Council and the local superiors and discussed on the implementation of the thrusts of GS 37 and General Plenary Assembly, 2016. Rev. Fr. Prior General reached Pune on 22nd August and spent three full days to meet with our members and the staff. He also conducted the canonical visitation in Samanvaya, Kolchoor on 5th and 6th September, 2016. The canonical visitation in Nirmal Province Jagadalpur commenced on 7th September, 2016.
8. Syro Malabar Church Major Archiepiscopal Assembly was held from 25th to 30th August, 2016. The session began with a solemn inaugural mass and concluded with a mass led by Major Archbishop Mar George Cardinal Alencherry. Out of the 35 religious priests, 13 were CMIs. The Assembly discussed on the theme of witnessing through our simplicity and various other issues.
9. CMI Educational Summit will be held from 15th to 17th September, 2016 at Christ University Campus, Kanminike (Devadan Campus, Kengery). 250 CMIs in educational apostolate will assemble to discuss and discern CMI Educational vision and policy in the changing phase of educational mission. Let us pray for the success of the Summit so that our educational apostolate will be acceptable before God and people in the legacy of CMI founders.
10. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Paul Chummar (Kenya) who edited the book in German language, Horizonte Gegenwartiger Ethik.

12. Ishavani Kendra, Pune organizes the following courses:
(1) NEW CHALLENGES IN FORMATION FOR MISSION from October 10-29, 2016 for all Formation Personnel at different stages of Formation.
(2) INTENSIVE COURSE PERSONAL GROWTH AND TRANSFORMATION FOR MISSION from 9th January to 4th March, 2017 for priests, brothers and sisters, seeking time and updating after at least 5 - 10 years of active ministry

13. The third Quinquennial - Junior Priests Program will be held from 10th to 13th September in Poornodaya, Bhopal. The last Quinquennial - Junior Priests Program of the year- will be held from 20th to 23th October in Poornodaya, Bhopal
14. Regents' Meet will be held from 16th to 19th September, 2016 in Poornodaya, Bhopal. All the regents shall attend the program and the directors of the regents shall send the regents to the program as unanimously decided by the Major Superiors.
