1. The Prior General with the consent of his council established the CMI Delegation in the USA and Canada on 10th October, 2016 and appointed Rev. Fr. Davy Kavungal as the delegate superior and Rev. Fr. James Panackal, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kaithamattam, Rev. Fr. Job Edathinatt, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Vettickal, Rev. Fr. Mathew Vadakkan and Rev. Fr. Biju Kannampuzha CMI as councillors. The Zonal Coordinators of the CMI Delegation in the USA and Canada are: 1. North East Fr. Davy Kavungal CMI 2. East South Central Fr. James Panackal CMI (with East South Central Subzone: Fr. 2. CMI Freshers' Meet was held on 8th October, 2016 in Chavara Hills. Rev. Fr. Paulson Thaliyath, General Formation Coordinator welcomed the gathering. After the self introduction by each person, Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the opening message. Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor, gave an orientation talk on CMI Global Mission. Rev. Fr. Vicar General celebrated the holy Eucharist and gave the message. The aspirants put up cultural programs of high quality to express their talents. Rev. Fr. Antony Elamthottam felicitated the gathering and distributed mementos. Thanks to the efforts of the General Formation Coordinator and the aspirants' rectors for taking the pain to organize the event.
3. In service training program for the Aspirants' Rectors was held on 7th and 8th October. Rev. Fr. Vicar General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Paulson Thaliath explained the dynamics of the program. Rev. Fr. Wilson Chakiath introduced the new tools for evaluation of CMI aspirants. Fr. Dr. Saju Koothodiputhanpurayil CST gave a session on "Equipping to be a Formator- Issues & Solutions". An interesting session on Vocational Growth was presented by Rev. Fr. Jose Poovattil. Rev. Rectors shared their experiences and challenges in their assignment. The province formation coordinators and the vocation promoters joined the session on 9th evening. A panel discussion was held on 10th October. Rev. Fr. Vicar General chaired the session and Rev. Fr. Vicar Provincial, Rev. Fr. Joseph, presented papers on various topics connected with vocation promotion and formation. There was a lively discussion and the program came to an end with the final message and blessing by Rev. Fr. Prior General. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Vicar General and Rev. Fr. Paulson Thaliath, General Formation Coordinator, for organizing the program effectively.
4. The new CMI house in Peabody, MA was blessed on September 28, 2016 by Most Rev. Mark O'Connell, the new Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston. Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 12 Noon in our St. Therese Chapel. Bishop Mark O'Connell was the main celebrant. Rev. Fr. Davy Kavungal, the coordinator General and around 10 CMI members attended the function. Rev. Fr. Jilson George thanked everyone who took part in the Mass.
5. Rt. Rev. Dr. John Oballa Owaa, the bishop of the Diocese of Ngong, laid the foundation stone for HUDUMA PCMI Rehabilitation Centre for the physically and mentally challenged children and youth, in Kibiko-Ngong in the diocese on 11th October, 2016. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Johny Thachuparamban, the Regional Superior , Rev. Fr. Paul Chummar Chittilappilly, the project coordinator and all CMI members in Kenya for this great initiative in the Year of Mercy.
6. Fr. Mathew Thengumpally has been selected for the BEST PRINCIPAL EXCELLENCE AWARD from S.Chand Group New Delhi. Hearty Congratulations!!!
7. Congratulations to:
. Rev. Fr. Anil Konkoth who was awarded PhD from Anna University, Chennai.
. Fr Paul Thamarassery was awarded PhD in Public Administration.
. Rev Dr Denny Peedikathadathil. He was awarded the degree on 20th September 2016 for his thesis on The Contributions of Non Governmental Organizations in Building Capabilities and Enhancing the Quality of Life in the Rural Areas of U. P.

8. The last Quinquennial - Junior Priests Program of the year will be held from 20th to 23th October in Poornodaya, Bhopal. The provincial shall make sure that all the members in the list of junior priests will attend the program without fail.
9. Rev. Fr. Prior General visited CMI House, Ghaziabad on 23rd September. He interacted with the staff and students of Christ Institute of Management. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of CMI House, Harinagar, New Delhi on 23rd and 24th September, 2016. The canonical visitation in Chanda, Bellmapilli, Mysore, Kozhikode and Coimbatore provinces was held from 25th September to 12th October, 2016. In all the provinces, the Prior General and the General Auditor gave their feedback of the canonical visitation in the province gathering.
10. Every CMI community shall pray for our Mission and missionaries in each country a day from the Mission Sunday on 16th October to 17th November, 2016. Let us be more aware of our mission in different countries and pray for its growth.
11. The prior general with the consent of his council has established a new centre, Carmelite (CMI) House in Peabody (30 Diane Road, Peabody, MA 01960, USA) and has appointed Rev. Fr. Jilson Naduviledath CMI as the Director.
12. The prior general with the consent of his council has established new CMI centres in Ghaziabad and Lavaza, attached to Dharmaram College. Rev. Fr. Anto Pudussery and Rev. Fr. Arun Chully have been appointed as the directors of Centres in Ghaziabad and Lavaza respectively.
13. A new Tool for the Evaluation of our formees, proposed by the committee consisting of Fathers Wilson Chakkiyath (coordinator), Abraham Puthukulangara,and Viju Painadath, has been approved by the General Council. All concerned with formation shall make it a point to use the new tool from this mid evaluation.
