184th Foundation Day of CMI

Dear Rev. Fathers and Brothers
Prayerful Greetings from Prior General's House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad, Kochi.
Today we celebrate the 184th Foundation Day of CMI. Let us remember with gratitude the founding fathers, St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, Malpan Thomas Palackal and Malpan Thomas Porukara. During the last 184 years, our Lord has been so generous to us in bringing up our congregation from Besrauma to the ends of the earth. On this happy occasion, let us be united in prayer with all our fathers in heavenly bliss and resolve to continue their legacy.
Let us call to mind the struggles our pioneering members have gone through to realize the dream of Darsanaveedu or Tapasubhavanam. It is true that we have grown a lot in all aspects. During the year of Consecrated Life, let us be focused on the quality of our consecrated life, especially our prayer life, community life and apostolic life.
May the spirit and zeal of our founding fathers awaken us to make a new history in God's providential plan, relevant to the times.
Wishing you all the greetings and blessings of the Foundation Day
Fr. Paul Achandy CMI
