1. CMI Theologians and Philosophers Forum organized a two day seminar at Dharmaram College, Bangalore on 27th and 28th October 2017. Rev. Fr. Rector, Dharmaram College welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr Prior General inaugurated the seminar on CMI Legacy of Contextual Ecclesiastical Education and the Evangelizing Mission of the Church. Rev. Fr. Paulachan, President spoke on the Legacy of CMI Ecclesiastical Education. Rev. Fr. Joseph Pathrapankal gave the key note address on the theme: Scribes Trained for the Kingdom of God. Bishop Mar Gratian Mundadan and Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedath, General Councillor, felicitated the gathering, followed by 7 panel discussions on relevant themes. Rev. Fr. Thomas Aykara spoke on CMI Legacy of Ecclesiastical Education: Dream for the Future. All the 60 participants who attended the Forum actively participated in the discussion and finally a statement has been approved based on the proceedings of the discussion held on two days. It was decided to continue the regular activities of the Forum with a committee consisting of President, DVK (Coordinator), Deans, Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, DVK and Associate Deans, Darsana and Samanvaya along with General Councillor for Education and Mass Media and Rector, Dharmaram College as its patrons. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. President and members of DVK for their efforts to organize the event.

2. During the seminar by the Theologians and Philosophers Forum, a colorful function was organized to honour Rev. Joseph Pathrapankal CMI and Rev. Fr. Francis Vineeth Vadakethala CMI, Rev. Fr. Constantine CMI and Rev. Fr. L. Legrand, MEP the veterans in Theology and Philosophy. Rev. Bro. Anjo Puthoor performed a musical concert of high quality and it was well appreciated. Rev. Fr. Prior General honoured Rev. Fr. Joseph Pthrapanakal and Rev. Fr. Francis Vineeth with a shawl and Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedath presented the plaque of honour to Fr. Joseph Pathrapankal and Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal to Fr. Francis Vineeth. Rev. Fr. Constantine CMI and Rev. Fr. L. Legrand, MEP could not attend the function. Congratulations to the veteran Theologians and Philosophers.

3. Rev. Fr. Joby Pulickan won the appreciation of the Examination committee for defending excellently well his Ph.D thesis titled, "Metagenome Analysis of Human Gut Microbiome and Its Prospective Influence in Autism" at Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod on November 3, 2017. Congratulations to Rev. Dr. Joby Pulickan, Provincial Councillor for Education, Bhopal Province.

5. Mary Matha Vice Province Bellampilly has changed its name to Mary Matha Vice
Province Hyderabad based on the Provincial Synaxis decision and approval of the Prior General with the consent of the General Council.

6. Congratulations and best wishes to Rev. Fr. Shaji Kochuthara who has been elected as the President of the Association of Moral Theologians of India in the recent Annual General Meeting.

7. Congratulations and Best wishes to Rev. Fr. Davy Kavingal who has been installed as the Dean of Brooklyn by Bishop Nicholas Di Marzio.

8. Congratulation to Fr. Joy Peenickaparambil who has been presented G V Raja sports award by the State Sports Council for the best Physical Education Teacher among the Colleges in Kerala.


9. Devamatha Province organized the Provincial level celebration of 150th Anniversay of Chavarul at Jerusalem Retreat Centre, Thalore on November 3, 2017 in the presence of a large gathering of more than ten thousand people. Rev. Fr. Antony Njallampuzha gave the talk on Chavarul and its relevance in the contemporary times. Rev. Fr. Prior General presided over the concelebration of the Holy Eucharist. Rev Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor, Rev. Fr Walter, the Provincial and members of the province attended the celebration. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Provincial and team and the members of Jerusalem Retreat Centre.

10. Meeting of the scholastics who study in College for graduation and post-graduation in the North Indian Provinces was held in Poornodaya, Bhopal from 03 to 05 November 2017. Fr. Benny Thettayil CMI, the programme Coordinator organized the programme so well. The theme 'celebrating Celibate Life' was the focus. Fr. Vicar General, Fr. Benny Thettayil CMI, Fr. Davis Varayilan CMI and Fr. Francis Vaegas SVD engaged the sessions. Thanks to Fr. Benny Thettayil and Fr. Mathew Thadathil for their hard work to organize the programme with Rev. Fr. Vicar General and Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil, the General Formation Coordinator.

11. The Pre Ordination Course for our 46 CMI deacons began at CSR Pariyaramon on 1 November. Rev. Fr. Prior General Inaugurated the Program and gave the orientation Talk.

12. IIIrd Anniversary of the Canonization of St. Kuriakose Elais Chavara will be held at Mannanam on Thursday 23 November 2017.

13. Koinonia 2017, An Enrichment programme on Redefining Mission and Ministry, for CMI priests ordained from 1980 to 1990 has been scheduled from 28th November 2017, 06.00 pm to 30th November 2017, 01.00 pm in CMI Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad. The program aims at making introspection into our religious and priestly ministry in the changing times through input sessions by Dr. Augustine Pamblani CST and Mar Thomas Tharayil, Auxiliary bishop of Changanacherry, discussion, personal sharing and other interesting events.

14. Retreat for CMIs will be held at CSR, Pariyaram from December 1 - 7, 2017 in preparation for the feast of our Lady of Immaculate Conception. The Local Superiors shall make sure that every member in their community is provided an opportunity for annual retreat of the Year 2017 by the end of December.

15. The last Quinquennial programme for the year 2017, ongoing formation for the Young priests, will be held from 21 December 2017 to 23 December at Chavara Hills. The junior Priests ordained from 2011 December to 2016 January who were not able to attend the programme so far are expected to attend it without fail.

16. 150th Year of Chavarul, Prior General’s Day and Reception to the Newly Ordained Priests will be held at 9.30 a.m. on 4th January, 2017.

17. Meeting of the Provincials with the General Council will be held on 4th and 5th January 2017 in the Prior General’s House, Kakkanad.

18. Our members who celebrate their Golden Jubilee of Religious profession will assemble at Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, from 13th to 15th January, 2018.

19. Members who celebrate their Golden Jubilee of Priestly Ordination will meet at Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, from 17th to 19th January, 2018
