1. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of St. Joseph’s Provincial House, Thiruvananthapuram on 3rd and 4th April 2018. The renewal program was organized from 4th to 7th April. Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Rev. Fr. Sony Palathara, Rev. Fr. Shaji Kochuthara, Rev. Fr. Paul Vadakkemury, Rev. Fr. Renny Kalathil, Rev. Fr. Joy Vattoly, Rev. Fr. Mathew Polachira and Rev. Sr. Soja Maria gave the inputs for the reflection, discussion and evolving action plan. Province Gathering, Meeting of the Superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC were held on 7th April in the presence of General Council.

2. Women welfare association at Thomattuchal near Batheri started a whole wheat bread bakery and legal cell for the villagers initiated by SKD sisters on April 10, 2018. Rev. Fr. Vicar General attended the inauguration and blessing of this women empowerment program which was supported also financially by Chavara Fund of our Congregation.

3. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of St. Joseph Provincial House, Kottayam from April 9-11, 2018. The renewal program was organized from 11th to 13th April. Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Jobin Thayil, Rev. Fr. James Pampara, Rev. Fr. Dominic Kozhikothickaland Rev. Fr. Benny Nalkara, Prof. Tomy and Prof. Sabu were the resources persons. Province Gathering, Meeting of the Superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC were held on 14th April in the presence of General Council.

4.Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of Sacred Heart Provincial House, Kochi from April 16-18, 2018. The renewal program was organized from April 18-21, 2018. In the inaugural session, Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Justin Puthenpurackal, Rev. Fr. Jose Cletus Plackal, Rev. Fr. Joy Vattoly, Rev. Fr. Benny Nalkara, Rev. Fr. Varghese Puthussery, Rev. Fr. Biju Kootaplackal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Thekkiniyath and Dr. Kochurani Joseph presented the topics and the participants had serious discussion and evolved an action plan. On April 21, the Province Gathering was held in the presence of the General Council, followed by the meeting of superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC.

5.Get together of the newly professed CMIs was held at Chavara Hills from April 7-10, 2018. Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Rev. Fr. Jose Kurideath, provincial and Rev. Fr. Augustine Pamplany CST gave them inputs on CMI Charism and Spirituality and Religious Vows, respectively. Then they shared their experience and expectations led by Rev. Fr. Vicar General. The newly professed made a pilgrimage to Mannanam and Kainakary along with the novice masters. Thanks to Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil, the General Formation Coordinator for organizing the program very effectively.

6.Interreligious Easter Celebration was held on Easter day at Chavara Cultural Centre, Kochi. There was a good gathering of members from different walks of life and religions. All appreciated the efforts of Chavara Cultural Centre to foster the spirit of inter-religious harmony in the midst of today’s challenges. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Roby and Rev. Fr. Anil, Chavara Cultural Centre, Kochi.

7.The Assembly of World Religions was organized by WFIRC (World Fellowship of Inter-Religious Councils) and DVK (Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram) at DVK Research Centre, Auditorium, Bangalore on April 19-21, 2018. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Roby Kannanchira CMI, the Secretary-General of WFIRC for the great efforts and thanks to DVK for the great support.

8.Swami Sadanand Award for Harmony and Peace was conferred to Swami Sachidananda Bharathi at St. Paul Sr. Secondary School, Bhopal on 21st April 2018. Bishop Clemens Memorial Navachetana Media Award was presented to Rev. Dr. Anto Amarndad CMI. Congratulations to Rev. Dr. Anto Amarnad and appreciation to St. Paul Province, Bhopal for the noble initiative.

9.Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Jose Alex Oruthayappilly who was chosen for lifetime achievement award in social work and Rev. Fr. Jose Antony Padinjareparambil for his contribution in uplifting the poor through VOSARD. The award was presented at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences by Mr. Antony Dominic, Honourable Chief Justice of Kerala.

10.Students of Mechanical Engineering of Christ Engineering College, Irinjalakuda designed a customized wheelchair for the physically challenged and presented 37 wheelchairs to the deserving persons as part of their project Wheel Care. Congratulations to the social initiative taken up by Christ College.

11.40 hours adoration was held at St. Joseph’s Monastery, Mannanam from April 19-21, 2018. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Chamathara and Rev. Fr. Sebastian Elanjickal, Provincials of Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam were the main celebrants on the first and final day of the adoration. The feast of St. Joseph, the patron of the monastery was held on April 22, 2018.

12.The one-month immediate preparatory programme for the perpetual profession of our scholastics commenced in Chavara Hills Kakkanad on 22nd April 2018. Rev. Fr. Vicar General welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Thanks to Rev. Fr. Tomy Kattampilly who is accompanying 58 scholastics in their preparatory process.

13. CMI Media Meet organized by the General Department of Education and Mass Media will be held on April 30th and May 1st 2018 at Chavara Hills. All the CMIs engaged in media ministry including cultural and dialogue centres shall attend the programme.

14. Higher Education Round Table A Two-day conference of the CMIs working in the field of Higher Education will be held on August 3rd and 4th 2018 at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad.

15.One Day Seminar for Fresh Teachers in CMI educational institutions will be held on ‘CMI Vision of Education’ at Chavara Hills on August 18, 2018

16.CMI Board of Education Meet and a seminar on CMI Vision of Education will be held at Chavara Hills on August 18 -19, 2018.

17.Major Superiors Meeting and General Formation Council will be held from August 24 -27, 2018 in Dharmaram College, Bangalore.

18.The Renewal Program for Members Directly Under Generalate (except major study houses) will be held in Chavara Hills from 10 a.m. August 29 to 4 p.m. August 31, 2018.

19.Round Table for CMIs Teaching/Administering in CMI Schools: October 19th-20th, 2018 at Christ University Engineering Campus, Mysore Road, Bangalore.

o Rev. Fr. Titto Vallavanthara CMI who successfully defended his doctoral thesis on 7 February 2018 and completed his Ph.D. on the topic Influence of Facebook on Family Interaction of School Going Teenagers in Trivandrum City from the Department of Mass Communication and Electronic Media, Pondicherry University.

o Rev. Fr. Vincent Neelamkavil CMI who successfully defended his doctoral thesis on 17 March 2018 and completed his Ph.D. on the topic A Study of Fractal Properties of Turbulent Functions from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Christ (Deemed to be University), Bangalore.

•Mrs. Elia Devassy (84) beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Joy Chirayath (Preshitha Province, Coimbatore) was called to eternal rest on 19 April 2018. The funeral ceremony was held on 21 April 2018 (Saturday) 5 pm at St. Antony’s Church, Puthenpeedika. Let us pray for the departed soul.

•Mr. Varu (96) beloved father of Fr. Abraham Kunnatholi (St. Paul Province, Bhopal) was called to eternal bliss on 20 April 2018 at 9 pm. The Funeral was held on 21 April 2018, 3pm at Sacred Heart Church, Thiruhrudayakkunnu. Let us pray for the departed soul.

•Mrs. Gracemma (48) beloved sister of Fr. Mejo Gracevilla (Sacred Heart Province, Kochi) passed away on 19 April 2018 morning. The Funeral was held on 20 April 2018, 4 pm at St. Antony's Church, Thycattussery. Let's pray for the departed soul.

• Mr. C. C. Antony (79) younger brother of Rev. Fr. Pascal Chakalakal, of St. Paul Province Bhopal, slept in the Lord on Saturday, 21 April 2018. The Funeral was held on 23 April 2018, 4.00 pm at Infant Jesus Church, Meladoor. May the Risen Lord grant him abiding peace and eternal joy.

• Mrs. Mary Ananthakkatt (78) the elder sister of Fr. Thomas Thundathi (St. Thomas Province Kozhikode) expired on 23 April 2018 morning at Pulloorampara. The funeral service took place at Pulloorampara Parish Church at 8 am, Tuesday, 24 April 2018. Let’s remember her in our prayers.

•Mrs. Molly Kurian (65) beloved Sister of Rev. Fr. Walter Madathummuriyil, of St. Joseph Province Kottayam, slept in the Lord. The Funeral was held on Tuesday 24 April 2018 at 02.00 pm at St. Joseph’s Church, Panapilavu, Mukkuttuthara. May the Risen Lord grant her abiding peace and eternal joy.
