1. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of Carmel Provincial House, Muvattupuzha from 23 to 25 April, 2018. The renewal program was organized from 25 to 27 April. Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Rev. Fr. Sony Palathara, Rev. Fr. Antony Uruliyanickal, Rev. Fr. Joy Vattoly, Rev. Fr. Thomas Irimpukuthiyil, Rev. Fr. Biju Vettukallel, Mr. Manoj Sunny and Mr. Johnson Poovanthuruthy gave the inputs for the reflection, discussion and evolving action plan. Province gathering, meeting of the superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC were held on 28th April in the presence of the members of general council and the general auditor.

2. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of Devamatha Provincial House, Thrissur from April 30 to May 2, 2018. The renewal program was organized from May 2 to 4, 2018 at Jerusalem Retreat Centre, Thalore. Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Sunny Punnelparambil, Rev. Fr. Davis Panackal, Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, Rev. Fr. Joy Vattoly, Rev. Fr. Jain Thanikcal, Rev. Fr. Benny Nalkara, Rev. Fr. Varghese Kuthur, Dr. K. M. Francis were the resources persons. Province gathering, meeting of the superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC were held on 6th May in the presence of the members of general council and the general auditor.

3. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation of St. Thomas Provincial House, Kozhikode on 8th and 9th May 2018. The renewal program was organized from May 9 – 12, 2018. In the inaugural session, Rev. Fr. Provincial welcomed the members and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Benny Nalkara, Rev. Fr. Thomas Parayil, Rev. Fr. Wilson Chakiath, Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, Rev. Fr. Varghese Vithayathil, Dr. Chacko Kalamparambil presented the topics and the participants had serious discussion and evolved an action plan. On May 12, the province gathering was held in the presence of the members of general council and the general auditor, followed by the meeting of superiors and heads of institutions and GCPC.

4. Pre-Philosophy course for the scholastics preparing for their philosophical studies has started at Dharmaram for 43 brothers on April 30, 2018 and at Poornodaya, Bhopal for the 31 brothers assigned to Wardha on May 1, 2018. The course includes classes and different programmes on language skills and initiation in to philosophical studies.

5. CMI Media and Cultural Meet was organized by the General Department of Education and Mass Media on April 30th and May 1st 2018 at Chavara Hills. Around 40 CMIs engaged in media ministry including cultural and dialogue centres attended the program. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedathu, General Councillor welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Sebastian (Rajesh) Tholanickal CMI of Carmel Province Muvattupuzha, who successfully defended his doctoral thesis and completed his Ph.D. on the topic Development and Validation of Positive Self-Process Program as an Intervention to Reduce Burnout and Improve the Quality of Life of the Psychiatric Nurses from the Department of Psychology, University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.

o Rev. Fr. Joshy Paliakara of Devamatha Province Thrissur, who successfully defended his doctoral thesis on 30 May 2018 and completed his Ph.D. on the topic Effect of Yoga, Meditation and Brain Training Exercises on Life Skills, Cognitive Skills and Intellectual Skills of Tribal School Students from the Department of Physical Education and Health Sciences, Alagappa University, Karekudi, Tamil Nadu.

o Bro. Anjo Puthoor of Devamatha Province Thrissur, who passed MA Music from Madras University with First Rank and received Gold Medal and Certificate from Shri Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India on the 160th convocation ceremony on 5 May 2018.

? One Day Seminar for Fresh Teachers in CMI educational institutions on ‘CMI Vision of Education’ at Chavara Hills on August 18, 2018

? CMI Board of Education Meet will be held on August 19, 2018 from 9.oo am to 4.oo pm for Councillors of Education from all the provinces and representatives.

? Major Superiors Meeting and General Formation Council will be held from August 24 -27, 2018 in Dharmaram College, Bangalore.

? The renewal program for members directly under Generalate (except major study houses) will be held in Chavara Hills from 10 a.m. August 29 to 4 p.m. August 31, 2018.

9. PG Diary
Rev. Fr. Prior General will be leaving to Rome on May 23, 2018 and will be back on July 15, 2018 after attending the renewal programmes at Rome, UK, Germany, Ecuador and USA.

• Mrs. Lilly (79) beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Justin Thekkudan (St. Paul Province, Bhopal) was called to eternal rest on 27 April 2018, morning. The funeral was on 28 April 2018 (Saturday) at 4 pm at St. Mary’s Church, Karuvannur. Let us pray for the departed soul.

• Prof. P.P. Thomas, beloved younger brother of Fr. George Pittapillil (Sacred Heart Province, Kochi), slept in the Lord today on 7 May 2018. Funeral was held on Tuesday, 8 May 2018 at 11 am at Perumbavoor. Let us pray for the departed Soul.
• Mr. Papputty (75), beloved brother of Rev. Fr. Antony Payyappilly (St. Paul’s Province Mysuru) was called to eternal rest on 8 May 2018. The funeral was held on Wednesday, 9 May 2018, 10.30am at Little Flower Church, N.R. Pura, Karnataka. Let’s remember him in our prayers.

• Mr. Thomas M.T. (42), beloved younger brother of Rev. Fr. Siby Manjakunnel (St. Joseph Province, Kottayam) slept in the Lord on 16 May 2018. Funeral was held on Thursday, 17 May 2018 at 10.00 am at St. Mary’s Church, Thekkemala. May the Risen Lord grant him abiding peace and eternal joy.
