1. The second session of the XXXVIII General Synaxis was held from 05- 11 October 2020. The synaxis was conducted in the virtual mode with the due permission from Rome. The sessions started with an orientation talk by Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurackal, Curia Bishop and the inaugural message was delivered by Rev. Fr. Prior General. The sessions which lasted for seven days was conducted from 5 pm to 7.00 pm every day and the synaxis from all over the world could take part in the sessions. There were deliberations on Resolutions and action plans of different departments for the coming six years as well as on amendments of constitutions and directory of the Congregation. This second session was concluded with a message of Rev. Fr. Prior General.

2. Online meeting of the councilors of social apostolate from all fifteen provinces was held under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Biju Vadakkel CMI, the General Councilor for social apostolate on 07 October 2020. Rev. Fr. Mathew Kiriyanthan CMI, director of CEVA also participated in the meeting. Discussions were held on the various social work activities of all provinces during the pandemic COVID-19.

3. The meeting of the Major Superiors and rectors of the congregations in the Syro Malabar Church was held on 14 October 2020. All the rectors and Major superiors of our congregation participated in the meeting and discussions.

4. The administrative council of St. Chavara Pilgrim Centre, Mannanam was conducted on 21 October 2020. Rev. Fr. Prior General, Vicar General, Mother General of CMC congregation and the Provincial of St. Joseph Province Thiruvananthapuram were present for the administrative council. They discussed on the future activities and programmes of the pilgrim centre and mode of the upcoming events due to the pandemic.

5. Meeting of the finance councilors of all fifteen provinces was held under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Paulson Paliakkara CMI, the General Councilor for finance and agriculture on 21 October 2020 at 5.30 pm. There was an input session by Mr. Romid, the Chartered Accountant who spoke on various rules and regulations to be adhered to while making the transactions. Discussions were held on how to manage our resources and finance in this challenging situation of financial crisis.

6. Rev. Fr. Prior General visited Christ the King Monastery, Karukutty on 26 October 2020. He met all the fathers of the monastery and the novices of five provinces who are at L F Novitiate House, Karukutty.

7 The German delegation council was held on 26 October 2020 at 8.40 pm along with Rev. Fr. Prior General and Vicar General. The entire Delegation council were present at the meeting. Discussions were held on various developmental issues of the German delegation.

8. Rev. Fr. Prior General addressed the members of the Provincial Synaxis of Sacred Heart Province, Kochi on 31 October 2020. Rev. Fr. Prior General also paid a visit to Muvattupuzha Provincial House on 3rd November and met the Fathers and brothers there.

? Rev. Fr. Varghese Kottoor CMI (80) (St. John's Province, Bijnor) was called to eternal reward today, 01 October 2020. The Funeral was held at St. John’s Provincial House adhering to Covid 19 protocol.

? Rev. Fr. Pauly Thazhath CMI (81) (Devamatha Province, Thrissur) was called to eternal reward on 07 October 2020. He was a man of "spiritual shining light" to all. The funeral service was held at 04.00 pm at St. Mary's Monastery, Elthuruth.

? Rev. Fr. Sajan Thekkemattappallil CMI (51) (St. Joseph Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward today, 19 October 2020. The funeral Mass began at 11.00 am on 21 October 2020 at St. Anne's Monastery Chapel, Kurianad.

? Rev. Fr. George Hadrian Ambookan CMI (83)(Preshitha Province, Coimbatore) was called to eternal reward on Thursday, 22 October 2020. He served in different institutions in both Preshitha Province, Coimbatore, and Devamatha Province, Thrissur. He had also served as the General Councillor for Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry. The funeral was held on the same day at 2.30 at Bharathamatha Ashram, Chandranagar, Palakkad.


? Rev. Fr. George Madappattu CMI (86) (St. Joseph Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on Friday, 23 October 2020. His mortal remains were brought to St. Anne's Monastery, Kurianad on 25 October 2020 at 10.00 am and the funeral ceremony was held at 02.00 pm in the Monastery Chapel.

? Mr. Francis Kalapurayil (68), beloved father of Rev. Fr. Mathew Kalapurayil CMI (St. Thomas Province, Kozhikode) was called to eternal reward on11 October 2020. The funeral was held at 11.00 am on Monday, 12 October 2020 at St. Antony’s church, Chakkittapara, Kozhikode.

? Mrs. Annamma Mathew Muttath (73), beloved elder sister of Rev. Fr. Cherian Thunduparampil CMI (St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram) was called to eternal reward on 24 October 2020. The funeral was held on 25 October 2020 at 10.30 am at SH Monastery Parish Chethipuzha

? Dr. Manuel George (69), the beloved father of Rev. Fr. Thomas Thadathil (Mar Thoma Province, Chanda) was called to eternal reward on 28 October 2020. The funeral was held on 29 October 2020 at 00.00 am at Christ the King Church, Chilavu.
