CONCLUSION OF CHAVARA YEAR
Dear Rev. Fathers and Brothers,
Greetings from Chavara Hills. As you know the Chavara Year which we have been celebrating is drawing to a close on 15 August 2015. We have been passing through an year of abundant heavenly graces and blessings for our Congregation. The canonization of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara and the various programmes in connection with the canonization have given us a unique chance to know the person of Saint Chavara more deeply and to be inspired by his spiritual vision and to propagate the same to the public. As we come to the conclusion of Chavara Year let us thank the good Lord for his countless blessings and reaffirm our commitment to the cause of the Kingdom of God as shown by our saintly founder.
May I remind all local communities, especially our formation houses, to observe the conclusion of Chavara Year with an Eucharistic Adoration and Thanksgiving Divine Liturgy and other suitable programmes in the particular context of each community.
The general level programme of the conclusion of Chavara Year will be held at Dharmaram College, Bangalore, on 15 August 2015, which will be preceded by a National Seminar on Chavara Spirituality (12-14 August 2015). The concluding function will comprise of a Thanksgiving Divine Liturgy at 9.00 am on 15 August in Dharmaram College Chapel followed by a family gathering and agape.
I cordially invite all our members, at least a few members from each province, to participate in the Chavara Year Conclusion programmes at Dharmaram College. It will certainly be a living and vibrant sign of our CMI fraternity as well as edification for our brothers in formation in the Chavara Year.
