1. The feast of St. Kuriakose Elias will be held on 12th February 2014 at Chavara Pilgrim Centre, Kainakary. The flag hoisting will be held on 3rd February 2017.
2. The Feast of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, founder of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, will be held at Carmel Center in Liberty, Tennessee, on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Most Rev. David Choby, Bishop of Nashville will be the main celebrant. Rev. Dr. Tommy Velliyedath will give the homily. After lunch, a video entitled 'The Footprint of a Saint' - a life sketch of St. Chavara - will be shown.
3. Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor for Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry, Rev. Fr. Wilson Moyalan, Rev. Fr. Cletus Plackal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Vayalil, Rev. Fr. Thomas Manjakunnel and Rev. Fr. Antony Kuttianickal, Provincials of five provinces visited our Amazon mission in Santarem. The Memorandum of Understanding between Santarem Diocese and CMI Congregation was signed on 20 January 2017. The Installation ceremonies of our members as the Parish priest and associate were attended by the General Councillor and the provincials. Congratulations to our Amazon missionaries for their passion for the mission and expertise in picking up Portuguese language. Thanks to the efforts of Rev. Fr. Antony Kalliath for pioneering the Amazon mission and providing all support to get the missionaries trained to move to the peripheries despite all the challenges.
4. Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor for Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry, reached Ecuador and he started visiting the places and meeting with our missionaries. He will meet with the bishops and enhance our relationship in Ecuador in different dioceses. Rev. Fr. Saju will be back on 9th February, 2017.
5. Rev. Fr. Naiju Jose Kalambukattu defended his doctoral thesis on 25th January 2017 and was awarded "Summa cum laude". His Excellency most Rev. Manel Nin OSB was the first relator. Msgr. Prof. Paul Pallath who is the relator in the Congregation of Cause of Saints, Vatican was the second relator. The third relator was Prof. Emidio Vergani, a great Syriac scholar and patrologist. David E. Nazar SJ, the rector of PIO moderated session. The title of the work is Roots to the Wings: The Apostolic Christ-experience and Its Organic Growth in the East Syriac Liturgy. 6. Best wishes to Rev. Fr. Sheejan Pullokaran who will defend his doctoral thesis, Pollution Status of River Waghur and Tapi: A Comparative Study of North Maharashtra Region on 12th February 2017 in JJT University, Rajasthan.
7. The convocation of DVK Bangalore was held on 31st January 2017 and the Samavarthana in Dharmaram College was on 1st February 2017.
8. Human Formation in Major Seminaries, Seminar cum Workshop will be held in Dharmaram College, Bangalore from 10th to 13th February, 2017 in connection with the Diamond Jubilee.
9. St. Theresa Chapel in the Mall (Boston): The first anniversary of our chapel ministry was commemorated and the report so far, of our Chapel ministry is very encouraging! Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Jilson Naduviledath and Rev. Fr. Janesh Moolayil.
10. Rev. Fr. Davy Kavungal has taken up the assignment as the Dean of Brooklyn on January 31, 2017. Let us empower him with our prayers so that he coordinates eleven parishes in the deanery as per God's plan.
11. The silver Jubilee of Chavara Mission, Dhule will be held on 5th February 2017 in Chavara Auditorium, Dhule.
12. CMI Educational Summit will be held on 12th, 13th and 14th May 2017 at Engineering College Campus of Christ University Bangalore.
