NEWS UPDATE (22-06-2018)
1. The Renewal programme for our members in UK was held at St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre, Wembley, from 12 to 14 June 2018. Fr. John Menonkari, the Coordinator General for UK, gave the welcome address. Fr. Johny Edapulavan, the General Auditor and the coordinator of the renewal programme in UK, felicitated the gathering. After the self-introduction and sharing of the members, Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the orientation talk. Rev. Fr. Philip Kuzhiparambil, Fr. Abraham Kandathinkara, Fr. Johnson Kattiparambil, Fr. Joy Alappat, Fr. George Areekuzhy presented the papers on renewal themes and had a very good discussion on practical implications and an action plan was charted out. All the members took active part in the discussion with their contributions. All the ten members in England and Wales actively participated in the renewal programme. Thanks to Fr. John Menonkari, Fr. Jose Kaduthanam and Fr. Tebin Puthenpurackal for organizing the programme very well.

2. The Renewal programme for our members in Europe (except Italy and UK) was held in Rosrath, Germany from 17 to 20 June 2018. Fr. Georgekutty Kuttiyanickal, the Delegate Superior welcomed the gathering and Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. His Eminence Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, celebrated the Holy Mass and gave the message. Cardinal spent half a day with our community discussing on our mission in Germany. Fr. Shaji Kochuthara, Fr. Varghese Vithayathil, Vicar General, Fr. Sebastian Elavathingal and Fr. Varghese Plackal presented papers and Fr. Lukose Vallikattukuzhy, Fr. Martin Payyappilly, Fr. Jose Kuzhichalil, Fr. Mani Kuzhikandathil made supplementary presentations on different topics. Dr. George Arickal spoke on the perception on CMI from an outsider's perspective. Group discussion was held and an action plan was evolved. Congratulations to Fr. Vicar General, Fr. Delegate Superior, Councillors of delegation Council and Fr. Jose Vadakkekara and other committee members for organizing the programme very systematically.
3. After the Summer Holidays, academic year commenced in our common study houses - in Dharmram after the annual retreat, renewal and orientation programme; in Samanvaya after the orientation programme on 11-15 June 2018 at Kolchoor; in Darsana, Wardha after the orientation programme from 13-14 June 2018. In Pune the orientation program will be held on 18-20 July 2018. The first year philosophy students of Darsana spent three weeks in Hindi language training in Poornodaya/Samanvaya Bhopal. It was well organized and well appreciated. Congratulations to Samanvaya and Darsana team.
4. An Iftar Virunnu was organized at Chavara Cultural centre on 16 June 2018, to promote inter-religious fellowship. Congrats to Fr. Roby Kannanchira and his team.
5. His Eminence Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki, Archbishop of Cologne, will visit CMI Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Our Mother House and Chavara Pilgrim Centre, Mannanam, Dharmaram College, Bangalore in the month of July. He will be our special guest for the feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel on 16 July 2018.
6. The Renewal Programme for our members working in South America will be held from July 3-6, 2018 in Quito, Ecuador.
7. The Renewal Program for our members in North America will be held from July 10-13, 2018 in St. Meinrad, Indiana, USA.
8. The renewal programme for members directly under the Prior General’s House (except major study houses) will be held in Chavara Hills from 10 a.m. on 29 August to 4 p.m. on 31 August 2018. Those who were not able to participate in the renewal pro-gramme in their respective provinces can also participate in the programme (with advance notice).

? Fr. Regi John Kollammattel (Kurian) CMI who completed his doctorate in Dogmatic Theology from Theological and Philosophical Institute, Valender, Germany on Marriage and Family: A Systematic Theological Study from the Perspective of Mercy.
? Fr. Siby Kavattu CMI, who successfully completed his re-search titled Divine Pedagogy in Creation: An Enquiry into the Roots of the Idea of Creation as an Act of Teaching in the School of Nisibis, under Prof. Dr. Massimo Pampaloni from the de-partment of Oriental Ecclesiastical Studies in the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome.

? Rev. Fr. Joy Joseph Kalaparambath CMI (73) (Devamatha Province, Thrissur) was called to eternal reward on, 21 June 2018, evening. He was a dedicated Kenyan missionary. For a few months, he was under treatment for Cancer at Amala Hospital Thrissur. His funeral will be held on Sunday, 24 June 2018 at St. Theresa's Monastery, Kottakkal (Ampazhakkad), Mala at 2.30pm.
? Rev. Fr. Jose Varghese Chereath CMI (80) (St. Paul Province, Bhopal) was called to eternal rest yesterday, 21 June 2018 at 11.20pm. He was a pioneer missionary in the Sagar mission and a zealous pastor for long years at South Africa. He was under treatment for past one year. His funeral will be held at Sagar Bhavan, Thrissur on Monday, 25 June 2018 at 02.30 pm.
? Mrs. Aliykutty Aprem Alencerry (83), beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Augustine Alencerry CMI of Mar Thoma province, Chanda, slept in the Lord on 1 June 2018 afternoon. The Funeral was held on Monday, 4 June 2018 at St. Joseph's Church, Kurichy at 10:30am.
? Mr. Augusty Kurian (84), beloved father of Rev. Fr. Devasia Ezholithakadiyel CMI (St. Xavier's Province, Rajkot) was called to eternal rest on, Wednesday, 6 June, 2018. The funeral was at 10.30 am on Thursday, 07 June 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Cemetery Ezhukumvayal, Idukki.
? Mr. K. A. Thomas Kunnumpurath(88), beloved father of Fr. Dominic Kunnumpurath CMI (St. John's Province, Bijnor) was called for eternal reward on 6 June 2018, evening. The Funeral was held on Friday 8 June 2018 at 2.00 pm at St Sebastian's Church Neyyassery.
? Mrs. Annam Punnackal (91), beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Antony Punnackal CMI (St. John's Province, Bijnor) left for eternal reward on, 16 June 2018. The funeral was held on, 17 June 2018, Sunday at St. Mary's Church Kaippattoor, Kalady at 3.00 pm.
? Mr. Jacob K. J. (83), beloved brother of Rev. Fr. John Karukuttikaran CMI (Devamatha Province, Thrissur) was called to eternal rest on Thursday, 07 June 2018. The funeral was on Saturday, 9 June 2018, in Mumbai.
? Mr. K. M. Joseph, beloved brother of Rev. Fr. Paulson Kannanaikal CMI, Preshitha Province, Coimbatore, slept in the Lord on 9 June 2018. The Funeral was on Sunday, 10 June 2018 at St. Mary's Church, Ambazakad at 3 pm.
? Rev. Sr. Sales Kakkanattu SH (94), elder sister of Rev. Fr. Emmanueal Kakkanattu CMI (Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha) slept in the Lord on 18 June 2018. Her funeral was held on 19 June 2018 at S.H. Convent Mylacombu at 9.30 am.
? Mr. Sunny Poovathingal (63), beloved elder brother of Rev. Fr. Paul Poovathingal CMI (Devamatha Province, Thrissur) was called to eternal rest on Thursday, 14 June 2018. The funeral was on Sunday, 17 June 2018, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Viyyur.
