1.His Beatitude George cardinal Alenchery , the major archbishop of Syro Malabar Church has requested our prayers for the effective conduct of the Ad Limina visit of the bishops of Syro Malabar Church and canonization of Bl. Mariam Thresia at Vatican in the month of October.
2. Chavara Cultural Centre was congratulated and felicitated on its UN Special consultative status by the different cultural organizations in Ernakulam – Kochi on September 16, 2019. Archbishop Mar Antony Kariyil inaugurated the meeting. Along with many dignitaries like Shaji Karun, Dr. Ananda Bose IAS, local MPs and MLAs, Rev. Fr. Prior General, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedath shared their appreciation for the landmark achievement of the cultural centre. Rev. Fr. Roby Kannanchirayil thanked the organizers for their support and appreciation. The former directors of the Cultural Centre were honored during the function.
3. The Second Session of the XXVII (2019) Syro Malabar Bishops’ Synod held from 19-30 August 2019, after necessary discussions and deliberations, decided to give its favoruable opinion on initiating the Cause of Rev. Fr. Bruno Kaniyarakath CMI. Now the Bishop of Pala has to obtain the Nihil Obstat from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints before the Instruction for conducting Eparchial Inquiries in the causes of Saints formally begins. Congratulations to the Provincial and team, St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam for taking the efforts to initiate the preliminary work. Let us pray for the intervention of the Lord and his time to proceed effectively for the cause of Rev. Fr. Bruno Kaniyarakath CMI.
4. A consultation meeting with CMI-CMC Major Superiors and Local Superiors was held on September 17 at St. Kuriakose Elias Pilgrim Centre, Mannanam to plan on the 150th Death Anniversary of Saitn Kuriakose Elias Chavara. Rev. Fr. Prior General and CMC Superior General gave the orientations. Rev. Fr. Scria Ehirett and Rev. Fr. Thomas Kallukulam made a presentation on proposals for both Mannanam and Kainakary respectively. Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor presented the common proposals for the celebration. It was followed by discussion and proposals from the participants. The concluding prayer was held at the tomb of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara. The meeting was well attended by a good number of CMI and CMC members.
5. St. Paul’s Province, Mysuru is making efforts to take up the cause of canonization of Rev. Fr. Amatus Kallarackal CMI who died on September 10, 2008 and was buried in Thandavapura. Commemoration of his life and legacy has been done in Thundangad, his home parish on September 21, 2019. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedath, General Councillor was the main celebrant for the Holy Mass. Rev. Fr. Varghese Kelamparambil, Rev. Fr. Sebatsian Elanjickal and a good number of CMI members and a large gathering of the parish community attended the liturgy, the public gathering and the agape.
6. Joint CMI CMC General Council Meeting was held at Chavara Hills on September 23 to decide on the common celebration of the 150th death anniversary of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara.
7. The CMI Constitution Retreat was held at Chavara Hills from September 9-15, 2019. Rev. Fr. Sony Palathara CMI coordinated the retreat. 65 members from different provinces participated in the retreat. Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly, Rev. Fr. Paul Vadakkemuriyil, Rev. Fr. Cijo Chennattu, Rev. Fr. Renny Kalathil, Rev. Fr. Mariadas OIC, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kochumuttom and Rev. Fr. Sony Ullattikunnel were the preachers of the retreat.
8. The CMI Constitution Retreat of St. Joseph Province, Kottayam was held from September 08-14, 2019. Rev. Fr. Binoy Marippattu was the main preacher of the retreat. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Elanjickal, the Provincial, Rev. Fr. Thomas Aykara, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kadankavil, Rev. Fr. Mathew Madayankal, Rev. Fr. Antony Njallampuzha, Rev. Fr. Boby Vadayattukunnel, Rev. Fr. Geo Kannamkulam were the other preachers of the retreat.
9. The joint meeting of the General department of Social apostolate and the Provincial department of social apostolate meeting was held on September 25 and 26 in the provincial house of St. John’s Province, Bijnor. His Excellency Francis Kalist, Bishop of the Diocese of Meerut, inaugurated the meeting and gave the orientation talk. Dr. K.R. Antony gave input on the theme: “Christian Response to Ongoing Health Challenges and Interventions in India.” The provincial Councillor and CEVA Secretary shared the best practices, issues, challenges and proposals for the forthcoming General Synaxis. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Vicar General for organizing the meeting and thanks to Rev. Fr. Biju Vadakkel, Provincial for hosting the event.
10. The CMI Constitution Retreat of Brazil Mission was held from September 1-6. Rev. Fr. Davis Varayilan was the retreat preacher for the constitution retreat at Brazil.
11. The CMI Constitution Retreat of Sacred Heart Province, Kochi was held from September 8 -14, 2019. Rev. Fr. Thomas Kochumuttam was the main preacher of the retreat. Rev. Fr. Jose Kuriedath, the Provincial, Rev. Fr. Cleetus Plackal, Rev. Fr. Joy Ureth and Rev. Fr. Jilto Pulpara were the other preachers of the retreat.
12. The CMI Constitution Retreat of Peru Sub-region was held from September 16-20, 2019. Rev. Fr. Davis Varayilan preached the constitution retreat for our members at Peru.
13. The CMI Constitution Retreat of Ghana mission was held from September 23-27. Rev. Fr. Davis Varayilan was the retreat preacher for the constitution retreat at Brazil.

? The Quinquennial programme for the junior priests will be held at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad from November 8-10, 2019 and at Poornodaya, Bhopal from September 28-29 and October 8-10, 2019. All the junior priests who have been ordained from December 2013 to January 2018 shall attend one of the programmes without fail.
? The Province level commemoration of the death anniversary of Rev. Fr. Amatus Kallarackal CMI will be held at Thandavapura on September 29, 2019.
?St. Thomas Province Kozhikode commemorates the Birth centenary of Rev. Fr. Joseph Bartholomew Mazhuvanchery CMI on his 14th death anniversary in Koodathai at 6.30 a m on October 1, 2019. He was a praying missionary of the Malabar Mission and a great devotee of St. Therese of Lisieux and he died on the feast day of his beloved saint.
? Training of the resource team for facilitating study of Lineamenta will be held in Chavara Hills from 10 am on October 5 to 4 p.m. on October 6, 2019.
? Mission Year celebration and Birth Centenary of Late Bishop Mar Jonas Thaliath will be held at Chavara Hills from 9.30 a.m. to 1 00 pm. on October 7, 2019.
? St. Joseph Province, Kottayam organizes Missio Ad Gentes, Mission Seminar on Saturday 12 October 2019 at Anugraha Renewal Centre Vazhoor.
? A National Seminar on Mission, titled Mission Ad Gentes at Crossroads on October 19-20, 2019, at Poornodaya, Bhopal. In this CMI Mission Year, as Pope Francis has declared October as the Mission Month, experts, veterans and evangelizers are gathering to reflect on the mission of Jesus undertaken by the Church, especially in India. We need to think loudly of the responses that we give to the challenges today. Providentially, it is also the Centenary year of the birth of Bp Jonas Thaliath, one of the pioneers in the North Indian Missions.

• Rev. Fr. Joseph Ayathamattam CMI (86), (St Joseph's Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on 23 September 2019.He was a silent, prayerful, and smiling presence of fraternal love, having the compassionate heart of Jesus. A true missionary, zealous pastor and sincere religious with utmost simplicity in life and humility in words. The funeral was held at St Vincent Monastery, Pala on Tuesday, 24 September 2019 at 01. 30 pm.
• Mr Tomy Kureekkattil (55), beloved elder brother of Rev. Fr Paul Kureekkattil CMI( Councillor for Finance and Agriculture, St Thomas Province, Kozhikode) was called to eternal reward on 20 September 2019. The Funeral was on Saturday, 21 September2019 at 11. 00 am at St. Mary's Church Manippara, Kannur.
• Mrs. Annamma Chacko Chunayanmackal (65) beloved mother of Rev Fr. Jaino Chunayanmackal CMI (St. Chavara Vice- Province, Bhavnagar) was called to eternal reward on 22 September 2019. The funeral was on Monday, 23 September 2019 at 3 PM at St. Ann's Church, Kodikkulam.
• Mrs. Mariakutty Muppathinchira (90) beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Thomas Muppathinchira CMI (Nirmal Province, Jagdalpur) was called to eternal reward on 23 September 2019. The Funeral was on Wednesday, 25 September 2019 at 10 am at St. Jerome's Church, Nazareth, Nedumudi.
• Mrs. Mary Dominc Mannamparampil (78) beloved Mother of Rev. Fr. Joseph Mannamparampil CMI ( St. Joseph Province Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on 23 September 2019. The Funeral was on wednesday, 25 September 2019 at 10. 30 am at Christuraj Church, Valiyathovala.
• Mrs. Annakutty Thomas Plakkattu (90) beloved elder sister of Rev. Fr. Thomas Aykara CMI (St. Joseph Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward on 24 September 2019. The funeral was on wednesday, 25 September 2019 at 2.00 p.m. at Little Flower Curch, Kuttaparamba,near Alakodu (Kannur).
