1. Rev. Fr. Prior General made the canonical visitation for our members in Rome. He also met with the officials in the Congregation for Catholic Education for discussion on our ecclesiastical institutes. He attended the blessing and inauguration of the building of Syro Malabar Procura in Rome on October 13, 2019.

2. Rev. Fr. Prior General, our members in Rome and a few members from India and Germany were part of the canonization ceremony of St. Mariam Thressia and other four saints held in Vatican on October 13, 2019. They attended the vigil held on October 12 and the thanksgiving mass held on October 14, 2019.

3. Rev. Fr. Prior General visited the new house in Dormogen, Germany and met with the community of Spiritan Fathers on the campus. CMI community close to Dormogen assembled on October 19, in our house and shared the fellowship.

4. A National Seminar on Mission, titled Mission Ad Gentes at Crossroads was held on October 19-20, 2019, at Poornodaya, Bhopal. Rev. Fr. Peter Kochalumkal, the rector of Samanvaya Theological College welcomed the gathering. His Excellency Bishop Vijayand Nedumpuram, Bishop Emeritus of Chanda, Inaugurated and gave the message and shared his mission experience. The Orientation Address was given by Rev. Fr. Justin Akkara, Provincial, St. Paul Province, Bhopal. Rev. Frs. Paulachan Kochapilly, Sebastian Elavathingal, Sebastian Payyappilly, Paulson Muthupeedika, Jacob Marangattu, Rayan SVD, Joshy Pazhukkathara, Benny Thettayil and Sr. Lizy SSPS shared their mission experience and presented papers on various themes. Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councilor for evangelization and Pastoral Ministry led the interactive sessions and gave the concluding remarks.

5. CMI Mission Conference was held from 24 to 26 October 2019 at Dharmaram College, Bangalore. His Grace Metropolitan Archbishop John Barwa of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar inaugurated the seminar and gave a powerful message on Missionary Resurgence in India: Recent Experiences and Lessons from the Church in Orissa. Mar Joseph Kollamprampil and Mar Prince Antony Panengadan shared their experiences and views on Evangelization and they were highly inspiring. Rev. Fr. Prior General presided over the inaugural function and on the final day he gave the concluding message. There was a good participation of missionary representatives from almost all continents and their sharing motivated the participants. Representatives of the scholastics from all our study houses in India also participated. Rev. Fr. Provincials and Provincial Councilors of Evangelization and Pastoral ministry and other CMI delegates and missionaries from all provinces made the program very effective. Liturgy and prayers, presentation and discussion, short documentary and docu-fiction on CMI Mission, cultural programs, exhibitions and the communion among members made a breakthrough. Congratulations to Rev. Fr. Saju Chackalackal, General Councillor for Evangelization and Pastoral Ministry and Coordinator, Rev. Fr. Wilson, Chakyath and Rev. Fr. Rajesh Kavalackal, Conveners, Rev. Fr. Rector and staff and students of Dharmaram for effectively organizing the mission conference.

6. The committee to make proposal for amending the Constitution and Directory assembled on October 29, 2019 at Chavara Hills. In the first session, the Prior General and Council held discussion with the committee members and held some preliminary discussions on the amendments to be made.

7. A seminar was organized at BJM Carmel Academy, Chanda on 13 October 2019 to mark the end of CMI Mission year and Extraordinary Mission month. Bishop Vijay Anand CMI, Rev. Frs. Varghese Puthuparampil CMI, Benny Joseph Mukalel CMI, Tomy Chirapurath CMI, Fr. K .D. Chacko (diocese of Chanda) and Rev. Sr. Lilly Grace CMC shared their mission experiences and presented papers on the growth and dynamics of mission.

8. Pre- Ordination course for deacons commenced on November 1 2019 at CSR Pariyaram. Rev. Fr. General gave the inaugural message.

9. The Quinquennial programme for the junior priests was held at Chavara Hills, Kakkanad from November 08-10, 2019. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Thekkedathu welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Prior General gave the inaugural message. Rev. Fr. Jose Kuriedath, Provincial, Sacred Heart Province Kochi, and Rev. Fr. Tom Pannalakunnel MSFS gave input sessions during the program, followed by personal sharing. Hearty congratulations to Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil for organizing the Quinquennial programme.

10. CMI Constitution Retreat was held at Mar Thoma Province, Chanda from 27 October to 02 November 2019. There were 44 participants from 8 Provinces. Rev. Fr. Davis Varayilan guided the retreat and Rev. Frs. Benny Joseph Mukalel & Joshy Pazhukkathara assisted him by sharing a couple of talks.

11. CMI Constitution Retreat of St. Xavier’s Province Rajkot and St. Chavara Vice Province, Bhavnagar was held from November 03-09, 2019. Rev. Fr. Sony Palathara, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Kariyapurayidam, Rev. Fr. James Thayyil, Rev. Fr. Jacob Marangattu, Rev. Fr. Martin Mallathu, Rev. Fr. Francis Aykkaraparambil, Rev. Fr. Regi koodappattu, Rev. Fr. Thomas Kolamkuzhiyil, Rev. Fr. Davis Manjaly were the preachers of the retreat.

12. CMI Constitution Retreat was held at St. Paul Province, Bhopal from November 03-09, 2019. Rev. Fr. Thomas kochumuttam was the main preacher of the retreat. Rev. Fr. Paulson Muthupeedika and Rev. Fr. Jaison Puthur were the other preachers.

13. Hearty congratulations to Rev. Fr. Thomas Chackalmattath who will be honoured by London Trinity College on December 05, 2019 for his unique contributions to the field of music.

14. Hearty congratulations to Rev. Fr. Francis Chirackal, Who successfully completed his Doctoral studies from Christ university on the theme “Collaboration between Gramapanchyath and women self-help groups on rural development.”

† Let’s Remember the Departed Souls

· Rev. Fr. George Kallarackal CMI (84), (Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha) was called to eternal reward on 21 October 2019. Fr. George was a sincere religious and a zealous pastor with utmost simplicity in life and humility in words. He was an eminent educationist, a true teacher and a successful Principal, who transformed the young minds of his time. The funeral was held at Mother of Dolours Monastery, Malayinkeezhu, Kothamangalam on Tuesday, 22 October 2019 at 09. 30 am

· Rev. Fr. Abraham Malieckal CMI (76) , (Nirmal Province, Jagdalpur) was called to eternal reward on 08 November 2019. On Monday, 11 November after the Holy Mass at 07.00 am, body was taken to St. Pious X Ashram, Amanakara and the funeral was held there at 02.00 pm.

· Mrs. Rosamma (89), beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Alex Ottaplackal (St. Paul's Province, Mysore) was called to eternal reward on 21 October 2019. The funeral was on Tuesday, 22 October 2019, at 04. 00 pm at St. Mary's Church, Nettana.

· Mr. M.C Antony Mundunadayil (90) beloved father of Rev. Fr. Sunny Mundunadayil CMI (Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha) was called to eternal reward on 26 October 2019. The funeral was on Monday, 28 October 2019 at 2 pm at St. Joseph Church, Perumpallichira Thodupuzha.

· Mr. Chacko Varkey Kizhakemyalil (67) beloved elder brother of Rev. Fr. Xavier Kizhakemyalil( St. Joseph Province, Kottayam) was called to eternal reward. Funeral was on Monday 04 November 2019 at 10.00 am at St. Xavier's Church, Mannarappara, Kuruppanthara.

· Mr. Joseph Chavarpuzhayil (67) beloved father of Rev. Fr. Jomon Chavarpuzhayil CMI (Carmel Province, Muvattupuzha) was called to eternal reward on 2 November, 2019. The funeral was on 03 November, 2019 at 3.30 pm at St. George Church Calvarymount, Kattapana.

· Mrs. Pauly Jose (67) beloved mother of Rev. Fr. Dany Kokkadan CMI (Preshita Province, Coimbatore) was called to eternal reward on 05 November, 2019. The funeral was on 6 November, 2019 at 9 am, at Little Flower Church, Potta.
