On 3rd January, 52 new priests of our Congregation celebrated Holy Qurbana at Mannanam. On the same day evening they were given reception at Prior General’s House. On the next day, along with Chavara Hills community the new priests celebrated Holy Mass at Prior General’s House. We have also reached 2000 members as priests in our Congregation with this batch. It was a grace-filled occasion to thank God for the greatest gifts of these many new priests to our CMI Congregation. Congratulations and prayerful wishes dear fathers!
A meeting of the CMI Bishops was held at Chavara Hills on 06 January 2021. His Grace Mar Antony Kariyil CMI, His Excellencies Mar Gratian Mundadan CMI, Mar Gregory Karotemprel CMI and Mar Joseph Kollamparampil CMI participated in the meeting. There was a lively discussion of the Bishops with General Council and Chavara Hills community.
Novice Masters Meet was conducted from January 22 to 24 at Prior General’s House, Kakkanad. The meeting focused on the new Novitiate Hand Book which was recently published by the General Department of Formation. Rev. Fr. Prior General spoke on the challenges and complexities of CMI formation today and invited everyone to imbibe a global perspective on formation. Rev. Fr. Vicar General congratulated and thanked the entire team of Novice Masters for working hard to bring out the new Hand Book. Rev. Fr. Mathew Choorapanthiyil OCD spoke on the pedagogy of formation.
Rev. Fr. Mathew Anantharackal CMI, Rev. Fr. Biju Koottaplackal CMI, and Rev. Fr. Jose Poovattil CMI animated the sessions. Newly appointed Novice Masters namely, Rev. Fr. Juby Maniyankery CMI (Punalur), Rev. Fr. Joby Punnilathu (Kappad), Rev. Fr. Manoj Mannakath (Neriamangalam), Rev.Fr. Joseph Panackal (Velamthavalam), and Rev. Fr. John Shibu Pallippattu (Bhanpuri) were welcomed to the team. Congratulations to Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil CMI, the General Formation Coordinator for effectively coordinating the meeting.
