1. The pre ordination course for the deacons was held in CSR Pariyaram from 1st November to 19th November. It was well organized by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Payyappilly, the master of the deacons. The deacons will spend the rest of the time in prayer and retreat. Rev. Fr. Jimmy Poochakkatt will guide them for the final retreat in preparation for the ordination in CSR Pariyaram from 15th to 22 November. Let us pray for the deacons to be powered by the Holy Spirit.

2. Congratulations and prayerful wishes to Rev. Fr. Joy Kakkanattu CMI who has been elected as the President of Catholic Biblical Association of India.

3. Congratulation to Rev. Fr. Cherian Kunianthodath CMI who has been honored with D. L.T from Kohima University considering his contributions to the literature.

4. Annual joint meeting of the General Dept. of Social Apostolate with the Provincial Councillors of Social Apostolate was held on 07 November to 08 November at Mary Matha Provincial House, Hyderabad. Prof. Victor Paul of Christ University was the Resource Person for the Program. Congratulations and Thanks to Fr. Varghese Vithayathil, Vicar General and the General Councillor for Social Apostolate for organizing the meeting very effectively.


5. Rev. Fr. Vicar General attended Justice, Peace and care for the Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Promoters Formation Workshop held from 15th to 18th November, 2017 in Rome.

6. 3rd Anniversary of the Canonization of St. Kuriakose Elais Chavara will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday 23 November 2017 in Mannanam. Let us celebrate it as a day of thanksgiving.

7. The feast and the third anniversary of the canonization of Saint Chavara was celebrated in Brooklyn, New York on 19 November 2017 under the leadership of our CMI fathers. Rev Dr. Joseph Palackal, CMI was the main celebrant. Priests from New York and New Jersey zone concelebrated. Members from the parish and many members from the Indian communities participated in the Solemn Mass.

8. The Get together of college going scholastics in the North India was held in Poornodaya Bhopal from 10th to 12th November, 2017. Rev. Fr. Vicar General and Rev. Fr. Joshy Cheruparambil, the General Formation coordinator organized the event.

9. Koinonia 2017, An Enrichment programme on Redefining Mission and Ministry, for CMI priests ordained from 1980 to 1990 has been scheduled from 28th November 2017, 06.00 pm to 30th November 2017, 01.00 pm in CMI Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad. The program aims at making introspection into our religious and priestly ministry in the changing times through input sessions by Dr. Augustine Pamblani CST and Mar Thomas Tharayil, Auxiliary bishop of Changanacherry, discussion, personal sharing and other interesting events.

10. 77 CMI novices will make their First Profession On 8th December. Let us pray for our young members so that they will live up to the original charism and legacy of the founding fathers.

11. The last Quinquennial programme for the year 2017, ongoing formation for the Young priests, will be held from 21 December 2017 to 23 December at Chavara Hills. The junior Priests ordained from 2011 December to 2016 January who were not able to attend the programme so far are expected to attend it without fail.

12. 150th Year of Chavarul, Prior General’s Day and Reception to the Newly Ordained Priests will be held at 9.30 a.m. on 4th January, 2017.

13. Meeting of the Provincials with the General Council will be held on 4th and 5th January 2017 in the Prior General’s House, Kakkanad.

14. Our members who celebrate their Golden Jubilee of Religious profession will assemble at Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, from 13th to 15th January, 2018.

15. Members who celebrate their Golden Jubilee of Priestly Ordination will meet at Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, from 17th to 19th January, 2018
