Inauguration & Blessing of New PGH Block

The new block of the CMI Prior General’s House at Chavara Hills was inaugurated and blessed by Bishop Emeritus Mar Antony Kariyil on 01 January 2025. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr Benny Nalkara CMI, Provincial of the Sacred Heart Province, along with fathers and sisters from the neighbouring communities.

Reception for New Priests (2024-2025)

Reception to the Newly Ordained Priests was held at the Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad on 03 - 04 January, 2025. They were welcomed by Rev. Fr Thomas Chathamparampil CMI, Prior General and the 38 Newly Ordained Priests with their master Rev .Fr Sebastian Mullooparambil CMI were the celebrants for the Holy Mass.

General Plenary Assembly (2025)

The second General Plenary Assembly was held at CMI Prior General’s House, Chavara Hills, Kakkanad from 05-09 January, 2025. The GPA formally began with the solemn concelebration of the Holy Qurbana by the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church, Mar Raphael Thattil. Various Sessions and interactions were held during the GPA on the theme “Being Synodal to be Pilgrims of Hope”

Meeting of all Plus one and Plus Two Brothers

A one-day get-together for our Plus One and Plus Two aspirants from the South Indian Provinces was held at the CMI Prior General’s House on 12th January 2025. The programme began with the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr Thomas Chathamparampil CMI, Prior General. Under the able leadership of Fr Anto Chakiath CMI, the General Formation Coordinator, various interactive sessions were conducted for the aspirants.

Renewal Programme of College going Scholastics

Renewal Programme for Degree Students was held from 17 - 19 January, 2025. Rev. Fr Prior General inaugurated the meeting. Rev. Frs. Thomas Vattakattu CMI, Francis Manavalan CMI, Sabu Thomas were the experts who led the input sessions. The Meeting was concluded with the Remarks by Rev. Fr Josey Thamarassery CMI, Vicar General.

Freshers Day 2025

Freshers' Day 2025, a gathering of first-year aspirants from our provinces, was held on 05 February 2025. A total of 116 brothers, rectors, and regents participated in the event. The blessed occasion commenced with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration, with Curia Bishop Mar Sebastian Vaniyapurackal as the main celebrant, and the Vicar General along with all rectors concelebrating the Holy Mass. The inaugural message from the Prior General and a motivational talk by Rev. Fr Shibin Muttamthottil CMI enriched the programme. Subsequently, games, competitions, and cultural events added joy and vibrancy to the day.

Sacerdotal Golden Jubilee (1975 - 2025)

The Sacerdotal Golden Jubilee of 1975 - 2025 batch was held in our General House on 07 - 08 February, 2025. The jubilarians shared their experiences of last fifty years as religious priest in CMI Congregation.

Holistic Animation Programme

The third module of the Holistic Animation Programme was held at the CMI Prior General’s House, Kakkanad, from 07 to 17 February 2025. Nineteen priests from different provinces participated in the programme. Experts from various fields led the sessions. As part of the programme, the participants visited St Thomas Mount and Pastoral Orientation Centre (POC).

UTSAH 2025 - Renewal Programme of All Regents

UTSAH 2025, the renewal programme for the regents was conducted on 10 -12 February, 2025. Rev. Fr Binoy Pichalakat SJ, Adv. Jince T Thomas, Rev. Fr Aneesh Eettakunnel, were the resources persons who really enriched the program. The young regents participated in meeting and outing with great enthusiasm and vigour.

New Secretary to Fr Prior General: Rev. Fr Sijo Vattekkadan CMI

CMI Prior General’s House extends a warm welcome to Rev. Fr Sijo Vattekkadan CMI, a member of the Sacred Heart Province, Kochi, as Secretary to Rev. Fr Prior General. Rev. Fr Josey Thamarassery CMI, Vicar General, welcomed him with a bouquet, marking the beginning of this new chapter with warmth and joy.

Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession (1975 - 2025)

Golden Jubilee of Religious Profession of 1975 - 2025 batch was celebrated in General House on 14 - 15 February, 2025. Rev. Fr Jilto Pulpara CMI led an input session for them and it was an occasion for the jubilarians to come together. The experience sharing of jubilarians was really enriching.

Quinquennial 2025 (Batch 2023-2024)

As part of the ongoing formation, the renewal and gathering for the junior priests- ‘Quinqennial’ program for 2023-2024 batch was conducted on 21-23 February, 2025. +Bp James Anaparambil, Mr. Jaison Arackal, Adv. Jince T Thomas, were the resources persons who really enriched the program. The young priests participated in meeting and outing with great enthusiasm and vigour.

Brothers from KECSH

On April 23, 2025, five brothers from the Diocese of Moshi, Tanzania, and one CMI brother from Kenya, belonging to the Devamatha Province, Thrissur, who are studying at KECSH, Bengaluru, visited the CMI Prior General’s House. They were accompanied by their master, Rev. Fr Jomon Mularikkal CMI, and their animator, Rev. Fr Lijo Thekkanath CMI.

New CMIs Meet 2025

New CMIs Meet 2025, a gathering of newly professed, was held from 25 to 27 April, 2025. Newly professed brothers and Novice Masters participated in the event. The blessed occasion commenced with the inaugural message from the Prior General. Fr George Kulangara CMI and Prof. Kochurani, were the resources persons who really enriched the program. The event concluded with the pilgrimage to Kainakari and Mannanam.

PUNE, DELHI, LAVASA & GAZIABAD HOUSES MEET

A meeting of the members from the Pune, Delhi, Lavasa, and Ghaziabad Houses was held at the CMI Prior General’s House from 23 to 25 April, 2025. The session commenced with an opening address by Rev. Fr Thomas Chathamparampil CMI, Prior General. Engaging sharing sessions and meaningful dialogue with the General Counsellors and Auditor greatly enriched the meeting.

New Regent for CMI Prior General’s House

With heartfelt joy, CMI Prior General’s House graciously welcomes Bro. Noel Ponnadamvakkal CMI of St Joseph’s Province, Thiruvananthapuram, as the new Regent. Rev. Fr. Josey Thamarassery CMI, Vicar General, warmly received Bro. Noel with a bouquet. We invoke God’s abundant blessings upon his ministry and pray that this regency becomes a fruitful journey of learning, service, and grace.

Workshop on Substance Abuse Free Environment

As part of the “CMI Year of Education” an Awareness Building Programme on Drug Abuse was organized from May 8 to 10, 2025, at the CMI Prior General’s House. The initiative was led by Fr Josey Thamarassery, Vicar General, and Fr Martin Mallathu CMI, General Councillor for Education and Communication Media. The programme was designed for CMI members engaged in the field of education.

The workshop was conducted by the NGO Fourth Wave Foundation under their project “VENDA”. The programme concluded with a thought-provoking session by Mr. P. Vijayan IPS, ADGP, which left a lasting impact on the participants.

Solemn Inauguration of the CMI Year of Education

The 194th Foundation Day celebration and the inauguration of the “CMI Year of Education” were held on 11 May 2025 at St. Joseph’s Monastery, Mannanam. His Excellency Mar George Madathikandathil, Bishop of the Eparchy of Kothamangalam, was the main celebrant of the Solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration. Following the Holy Qurbana, the jubilee candle was ceremoniously lit by His Excellency.

A public gathering took place at 02:00 PM on the same day, during which the official logo for the CMI Year of Education was unveiled. The event was graced by the presence of Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil of the Archeparchy of Changanassery, Hon. Minister V. N. Vasavan, and other distinguished dignitaries.

1960 Philosophy Batch Gathering

The Batch Gathering of the 1960 Philosophy Batch was convened at the CMI Prior General’s House, Kakkanad, from May 18 to 20, 2025. The exchange of experiences among the batch members was profoundly enriching. As part of the program, a visit was organized to monasteries in Aluva, Karikkamury, and Therava.

BURSARS-FINANCE OFFICERS MEETING

A meeting of Bursars and Finance Officers from various provinces of the Congregation was held on 07 June 2025 under the efficient leadership of Rev. Fr Babu Mattathil CMI, General Auditor. The sessions featured insightful presentations by distinguished resource persons, including Rev. Fr Alex Louis Thannippara CMI, Mr. Sony and his team, and Rev. Fr Augustine Keemattam CMI.

AUDITOR'S MEETING

On 08 June 2025, a meeting of auditors from all the provinces of the Congregation was convened at the Prior General’s House. The sessions were enriched by thought-provoking presentations delivered by renowned Chartered Accountants, including Mr. C.J. Romid, Mr. Sony and his team, Mr. Anto Kuzhumbil, and Mr. Thankachan. Their expert insights contributed significantly to the participants’ understanding of effective auditing practices, financial compliance, and accountability.

RAJAGIRI - KCYM RADICAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME

As part of the Rajagiri–KCYM Radical Leadership Training Programme, a session was held on 06 June 2025 for students from various dioceses across Kerala. Rev. Fr. Prior General led the session, focusing on the theme of leadership.

RECOLLECTION OF YOUNG PRIESTS

A recollection for selected young priests from various dioceses, organized by Mount St Thomas, was held on 17 June, 2025. Rev. Fr. Jilto Pulpara CMI served as the resource person and led the participants through an inspiring spiritual session.

CHRIST SCHOOL BANGALORE ROUND TABLE-2025

The CMI Prior General’s House hosted a Round Table meeting of representatives from the Christ Schools, Bengaluru, from 18 to 20 June 2025. The gathering was inaugurated with an address by Rev. Fr Thomas Chathamparampil CMI, Prior General. The meeting was significantly enhanced by enriching sharing sessions and thoughtful discussions with the General Counsellors and the Auditor.

A Meeting of the Rector, Masters and Animators of Dharmaram College, Bengaluru, Bengaluru was held at the CMI Prior General’s House from 20 to 22 June, 2025.
